For the first 29 years, ISKA held Summer Camp at Camp Green Meadows at the Jack Boyd Outdoor School in Fish Camp, CA. Last year, we were forced to find a new location due to septic tank repairs at Camp Green Meadows. Last year, we held the ISKA Summer Camp at YMCA Camp Jones Gulch in La Honda, CA and though not the same as Fish Camp, it was a wonderful location with many great amenities. This year, we will once again return to La Honda to enjoy a fun-filled weekend under the Redwood canopies.
About YMCA Camp Jones Gulch
YMCA Camp Jones Gulch is located at 11000 Pescadero Road, La Honda, CA, nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The 31st Annual ISKA Summer Camp will be held August 9-11, 2019.
The YMCA Camp has 4 Villages and the ISKA Summer Camp will be held at the Wasiata Village at the YMCA Camp. The logistics of the YMCA camp are similar to the ones at the Fish Camp with bunkhouse accommodations. One major advantage is that the YMCA Camp is located an hour from the San Francisco or San Jose airports, for easy access via Super Shuttle, other airport shuttles or Uber, which is a plus for participants traveling from International and National locations. We will also have a dedicated training hall, the Perkins Lodge, separate from the dining hall. There are many other positive amenities of this location.
This year there will be a campfire, since the YMCA camp has no fire restrictions! Please mark your calendar for this exciting event and be on the alert for more upcoming information.
